Summer Update

A gym update

ree

Both in our own lives and in the gym.

So firstly, life.

As many of you know, my parents are elderly and have needed extra care. Mum has cancer, Dad’s had a stroke. The last few months I’ve been teaching my classes and then driving to Chester or Liverpool (cancer hospital) to take care of them.  I’m sure many of you at my age have these caring responsibilities too!

Recently, things have taken a turn for the worse and they need me around more. I feel pulled in so many directions and something has to give. So with a heavy heart I am going to take some time off in August whilst I put in place some systems for their care and try and spend some time with my own family!

Over the years we’ve noticed quite a significant drop in attendance in August with holidays and childcare so I’m hoping it won’t impact you too much!

Rest assured, things will return to normal in September!

Congratulations Ronan!

Ronan has passed his sports rehabilitation degree  (Woohoo! Knew you could do it!!) and is moving on to do his Masters. This will take place ‘on the job’ in hospitals and he won’t have time to run the morning or evening classes, so he will be stepping back from Flixton Fitness at the end of August.

We have been an awesome team over the last 4 years - our skills and talents have complimented each other and we’ve always had fun and we hope that’s come across in classes.  I’m going to be really sorry to see him go, but I know it’s the best thing for him and his career development.

Thank you for everything Ronan - it’s been an absolute blast!

What does that mean for Flixton Fitness?

July - everything stays as normal

August - reduced timetable

Monday - Friday

9.30am and 6pm sessions only.

These will be family friendly - still a great workout but your children are welcome and actively encouraged to join in.

All the sessions will be on the app to book. You just need to book for yourself, children are free to come.

September - Normal timetable from Monday 2nd September at 9.30am.

I’m going to do my best to keep as many things staying the same.

But unfortunately, I don’t have the capacity to run the 6.35am classes at the moment so they will be cut from the timetable.

I am also going to need some help running the evening classes and before I look outside the gym, I just wondered if any of my fit crew fancy getting their Level 2 fitness qualification and earning a little extra? I’ll support you the whole way! If you are interested, do please get in touch! I can’t think of a better way to progress your fitness journey and it would be a wonderful advert for Flixton Fitness for some of our members to turn into coaches!

Last thoughts

I know that your workouts are an important part of your life and you need stability and certainty.

With these changes, I will totally understand if you need to look elsewhere for your workouts.

I am proud of our Flixton Fitness Family and the community we have built here, and I’m just crossing my fingers that you will understand the difficult circumstances I’m in and that you will come back and train with me in September!
