What's happening this Summer and into September at Flixton Fitness

Firstly, I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with all the effort you have been giving in classes recently.  I’ve witnessed heavier weights being picked up, extra reps added, better form, increased mobility, and a few first places at your kids Sports Days!

I am a very proud coach – I hope you are noticing the improvements, feeling stronger and better about yourselves too!  Keep up the great work!

Summer Holidays

To allow me to take a few days off in August to spend time with my family, our wonderful coaches will be filling in for me – all the changes are already up on the Fit by Wix app.

We have managed to keep a nearly full timetable but I am sorry that there won’t be any QuickFit midday classes in August and the only days when we are fully closed will be Thursday August 27th  and Friday August 28th – sorry for any inconvenience – otherwise its training as usual!

As it’s the summer holidays, children are very welcome to come to classes – they are welcome to watch or join in where possible.  You will be setting a fantastic example to them, but please bear in mind that they are your responsibility for the entirety of the session, and please be considerate of other members who might be there to escape from their children at home!

Changes to the Timetable from September

In September, I am adding an EverFit class on Friday afternoons from 1.30pm – 2.15pm.  As you know, I am all about aging well and this class will be for beginners, particularly older adults who would like to strength train, but feel intimidated by commercial gyms, not sure where or how to start and need some guidance and coaching.  We will start gently and build strength gradually over time, so if you have any parents or neighbours who you think would benefit from this type of class, then do please spread the word! Starts Friday 4th September at 1.30pm! Book via the App.

And due to lots of requests, I am changing the time of Wednesday nights class to 7.30pm to help all those working parents who can’t make the 6pm session due to bath and bedtime!

And I’m afraid that from September, there will no longer be a Friday night at 6pm session.  I have been subsidising it for over 2 years for those that did come, but unfortunately its just not viable anymore.  If you protest loudly, I can add it back in but I need at least 7 of you to regularly attend!

Investing in our future

I am also in the process of speaking to the club about redecorating the room, now that they have kindly renewed my contract and are very happy for us to stay.

This will mean that I can provide a nicer training environment, invest in some new equipment and expand the ways we train.  And it will also allow me to train up some new coaches too!

Here’s the bit I’ve been putting off….

You know how much I love Flixton Fitness and this has always been my passion and not about profit.  I have tried to keep the cost of classes as affordable as possible as I want you all to have fantastic old lady and old gentlemen bodies!

However, the rent has increased now that my probation period is over, and I have been trying to absorb the rising cost of things due to inflation, but I am struggling to make the numbers break even.  So unfortunately, and I am very sorry for this (I’ve actually been putting it off for months!) but I am going to have to increase the prices.

So from September 1st,

Pay As You Go will be £6.50 per session

Block Booking – 5 sessions for £30 to be used over 5 weeks - £6 per session

Block Booking –  10 sessions for £50 to be used over 5 weeks - £5 per session

Unlimited monthly will be £60 to come daily or as often as you like - £2.50 per session.

I think this is still favourable to other bootcamps and gyms in the local area -  you get a varied training programme, expert coaching, a friendly, welcoming environment, flexibility to bring children, outside space, close to home, etc.

I want you to know that if this is unaffordable for you, then do please come and speak to me in confidence and we can work something out, as I do not want this to stall the amazing progress you have been making.

Thank you if you’ve read to the end, and for all your continued support.  I am so grateful  for our FlixFit family and love everyone of you!  Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any concerns, requests or questions - happy to help!
