WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

This is the nicest story that exemplifies the ‘WHY’ we come to bootcamp and I just had to share - maybe you can relate.

Feeling a bit down, with lots of life stuff getting in the way, my friend wasn’t really feeling like coming to bootcamp; she almost cancelled but her partner said “Remember you always feel better after a session”. So she reluctantly put on her trainers and went.
She picked up a heavy weight, zoned in and got on with the workout.
After class, one of the other ladies came up to her (not someone she had chatted to before) and said “Wow, you’re a real inspiration to me – you were throwing that 14KG kettlebell around with ease and I was looking over at you thinking how beautiful and strong you are! Your strength made me pick up a heavier one too! So thanks for the kick up the bum! See you next week!”
That one comment, lit up my friends face and tears welled up in her eyes. She said that moment was the highlight of her week - she said she never thought she could be someone’s inspiration! So just by showing up she had made a difference to someone else on the team.
There are loads of reasons why we come to bootcamp – having your exercise all planned out for you, it’s convenient and local, cheap, and sometimes “fun” - but maybe the biggest reason is the genuine human connections we make when we all sweat together!

Talking about get together, here’s a date for your diary -
Flixton Fitness Christmas Party
Saturday December 7th at 7PM at The Fox Pub, Flixton.
It was so much fun last year – it would be wonderful to see as many of you as possible out of gymwear! More info to come shortly!

As you might already know, a few of our members have undertaken their Level 2 coaching qualification in Strength and Conditioning and are now ready (and insured!) to take some of the evening classes. Rest assured, it will still be the same great sweaty workouts – just with different smiley face at the front!
It has been a joy to watch their progress and I know they are going to make fabulous coaches.
So massive congratulations to Katy, Vicky and Kerry who qualified on Saturday. With more keen to complete the course in the next few months, I can’t think of a better way of showing everyone who comes to Flixton Fitness that with consistency and determination you too can progress to coach level if you want to.
This investment in the team means I can offer more classes during the holidays, try out new equipment and use their energy and fresh ideas to put on some different classes in the future. Perhaps more lunchtime quickfit classes, or a pilates style stretch class, teenage sessions, or a class designed for older people to stay fit and healthy – let me know what you’d like to see.
In order to cover this investment I need to make a small increase to the price of the Block Booking, up to £40 from £35. This will come into effect on 1st December. All other plans will stay the same.
Looking at what’s available in the local area, £4 a session is still a very modest price for the quality of workout you get, and the investment means I can keep Flixton Fitness open during the holidays and save up for equipment a lot sooner. I’ve really deliberated about this price increase, it wasn’t something I wanted to pass on to you and have tried to absorb the cost of the new coaches into the business as much as I can.
As ever, if you would like to ask a question, give me your feedback or make a suggestion about Flixton Fitness, please do contact me or chat to me after class. I am always here for you!
Thank you again for your support – I love our Flixton Fitness family and am so appreciative to have you in my corner!
Lots of love
Charley x
